What is your theory on how the end of the world as we know it will come about?

I believe that the Human Race will make the Earth un-inhabitable if some cosmic or natural occurrence doesn't do it first. We are our own worst enemy when it comes to the environment. Now, I'm not a so called "Tree Hugger", but even Ray Charles can see what's happening to our planet. It may be a natural phase that earth is going through, but you can't convince me that we humans aren't doing things to help speed it up. Something will happen that will cause our environment to change faster than we can adapt. Look at the number of weapons of m destruction around the world and the idiots that have control of them. Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical weapons are owned by numerous nations. Any of these in the wrong hands can do it. Instead of us protecting our earth, we have become an infestation to it! I know what the religious community says, and they may be right, I'm not going to say they are wrong. But I think even God does not want us to destroy ourselves. Look at it, God allows individuals to commit suicide, I don't want to take the chance that he would allow an entire race too.
