Does a student loan pay for a college enrollment deposit?
Yes, you can still accept the loans; however, the deposit cannot be paid with financial aid because financial aid won't be disbursed until the semester your daughter actually starts school. Does she have any money saved up from working, birthdays, allowance, etc.? You could always pay her back if you wanted to cover this cost. Are grandparents in the picture that could let you borrow a portion of the money, and then you could pay them back? Some schools will waive the deposit fee (if they really want the student), and some will allow payments to be made (perhaps 5 payments of $100 every payday). If you absolutely cannot find any way to get the money, contact the school as soon as possible and ask if there is any possible way you can make payments each week, or twice a month. Have your daughter earn money to help pay for this (babysitting, mowing gr, part-time job, etc.) because not all schools will work with you. Good luck to you.
