I'm moving to the US from the UK for several months to work in Somers NY. Coming from a city that has the 2nd highest population density outside of London, I think living in an intermediate suburban city such as White Plains will bore me very quickly. So I am looking to stay in Manhattan. My question is will it be quicker/easier to stay in midtown and commute from GCT, or are there nice places to live uptown from where I can drive upstate? As much as I'll be working I plan to socialise often during the week and will be going to concerts shows etc. My accom budget is $3000 monthly for which I'd like 1br. Is it possible to get a decent place for this in midtown?
